Roatan Steps Into the Global MICE Market at IMEX America 2025

Last week, the Roatan Tourism Bureau, led by CEO Gonçalo Hall, represented the island at IMEX America in Las Vegas, the world’s leading event for meetings, incentives, and corporate travel.

Together with Infinity Bay and Kimpton Grand Roatan, we positioned Roatan as an emerging Caribbean destination for conferences, retreats, and incentive programs. The response was remarkable, with strong interest from planners and buyers eager to discover new destinations beyond the usual circuit.

The global MICE industry is valued at more than $900 billion and is expected to exceed $2 trillion by 2032. The Caribbean is among the fastest-growing regions in this segment, and Roatan has all the natural and experiential advantages to compete on a global stage.

Our presence at IMEX marks an important step toward building a strong foundation for this market. The Roatan Tourism Bureau will soon announce a series of actions to attract events and incentive travel to the island, working alongside local partners to strengthen infrastructure, expand venues, and position Roatan as a preferred destination for international gatherings.

This is just the beginning. The world’s event planners are looking for fresh, authentic destinations — and Roatan is ready to meet them.
