Honduran Students Head to Roatán to Receive Seed Capital from Próspera for Innovative Projects
UTH Students Travel to Roatán for Seed Capital
On March 20, 2026, students from the Technological University of Honduras (UTH) will travel to Roatán to participate in an awards event hosted at Próspera, where they will receive seed capital to strengthen their entrepreneurial projects. This event highlights the creativity and potential of young Honduran innovators and provides a platform for them to showcase their work to local representatives, Próspera executives, and special guests.
What is the Activad@s Program?
The Activad@s program is an initiative by the Technological University of Honduras designed to identify, support, and mentor innovative business ideas led by young Hondurans. The program focuses on empowering students to turn their ideas into viable businesses by providing guidance, training, and resources throughout the entrepreneurial process.
This year, Activad@s is supported by Próspera, which contributes financial backing to the winning projects. By offering seed capital, Próspera ensures that these young entrepreneurs have the necessary resources to develop, scale, and implement their business ideas effectively.
Event Highlights and Mini Entrepreneurship Fair
The awards event will feature a mini entrepreneurship fair, where students will present their projects, products, or prototypes to attendees. This fair allows participants to gain visibility, receive feedback, and network with local business leaders and innovators.
Following the fair, the official awards ceremony will take place, during which ten selected projects will receive seed funding. Additionally, students will tour Próspera’s facilities in Roatán, experiencing firsthand the innovation ecosystem that the organization fosters, and learning how entrepreneurship and development intersect on the island.
