Governor Dino Silvestri kicked off the seventeenth Facebook Live broadcast by addressing how donations may be distributed among the community. The Governor spoke of scarcity in the days ahead and urged the public at large to be considerate of others and patient with the authorities. Donations will be dispursed to and for those who have the greatest need.
A resident has developed a ventilator prototype. This may be a valuable resource should ever there be a reported case of COVID-19 on Roatan. For now, there continue to be zero COVID-19 cases reported on Roatan.
There was a flight departing San Pedro Sula to Europe. The trip gave lingering guests still on Roatan the ability to return home.
Mrs. Trish Symons was showcased as a person playing a valuable role in the front lines. Mrs. Sympons has supported the generation of online content for official communication channels.
Roatan's Governor closed his remarks by addressing an improvement in the donations website whereby large corporations can match a donation.
Donations
The total amount raised through April 2nd is $110,888
The real challenge is the lack of tourism born from the pandemic. For this reason, an online donations resource has been set up to help support the community at large. Donations can be made online through the Make it Count Foundation, who is a 501(c)(3).
The disbursement of these donations will be for emergency needs, healthcare workers, protective and medical equipment. Allocations of these funds will be transparent online.

Below is the English translation of the document.
The Secretary of Security through the Honduran National Police within the framework of National Risk Management System (SINAGER), to the general population through clarification reiterates:

Trish Symons worked in Information Technology (IT) Project Management for close to 30 years and managed multi-million dollar projects with global team members and vendors, to deliver solutions for a major life insurance company in North America.
Trish was continually assigned to the most challenging of projects as she was known for getting the job done and doing whatever is needed to get the project done. She endeavors to foster a team spirit, bring out the best of people and their skills, and ensure no detail is overlooked. Trish looks to leverage technology to better communicate and to find tools to achieve better results, learning them on the job if need be.
Trish holds the global accreditation of Project Management Professional (PMP) and was recognized by her employer as a Star of Excellence; one of only 54 individuals selected annually from 35,000 employees worldwide, to receive the coveted award.
Born near Edinburgh, Scotland, one of 3 children to dairy farming parents, where she completed her education and began her career as a Computer Programmer. Having picked up the travel bug visiting her sister in Australia, she moved to Bermuda, where she worked for 3+ years. While there, she met her husband, David, who has moved there from England. They moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada and married, and resided for 30 years. They retired in 2018 and were excited to finally move to Roatan full-time. They have two adult children, ages 22 and 24, who live in Ontario, Canada.
Trish’s hobbies are keeping fit, learning Spanish, traveling to new places and developing friendships. She loves living on Roatán, its people and the climate and welcomes the opportunity to put her talents to use to help others.
Thank you, Miss Trish, for all the hard work you have been doing for the Bay Islands during this crisis as a volunteer.

NYC Press Briefing
Governor Dino Silvestri encouraged the public to tune into the daily press briefing by Governor Andrew Cuomo from NYC. This press briefing is meaningful as NYC is recognized as ground zero for the fight against COVID-19.
