Governor Dino Silvestri resumed his live Facebook broadcast with the nineteenth update after a brief weekend hiatus. The Governor began with a stern reminder that citizens must obverse the current curfews and ordinances. There have been too many reports about people gathering in large numbers on beaches and other public places. Furthermore, there are reports of civilians attempting to reach the Bay Islands from the mainland. The government reiterated, trying to reach the islands without proper prior permission is against the rules.
Here are a few updates from today's call:
There are zero cases of COVID-19 on Roatan.
Spring Break has been canceled.
Attempting to reach the Bay Islands is not permitted.
There are too many reports of people gathering at the beach.
There are too many reports of people gathering in public places.
The mainland of Honduras has seen an increase in COVID cases.
Local officials met today about illegal crossings from the mainland.
Banks, Gas stations, Pharmacies, and Grocery stores have extended hours.
Officials are working on obtaining rapid test kits.
Fishing from a private boat is allowed in small numbers.
Scuba Diving may be allowed based on the circumstances.
Traveling to and from other islands is still not allowed.
Once a rapid test kit exists on the island, islanders will be allowed to return home.
The current ordinance is in place until April 12th, or later.

UPDATE FROM CENTRAL GOVERNMENT
The Secretary of Security through the Honduran National Police and within the framework of the National Risk Management System (SINAGER), in relation to the measures applied by local governments during the emergency by COVID-19;
He communicates the following to the public:
All individuals or employees of municipalities who use heavy machinery or any other object to block access to communities will be evicted, their equipment will be confiscated, and they will be judicially summoned.
Heavy trucks transporting products that transit through the different access roads must use masks, alcohol or antibacterial gel as preventive biosecurity measures if they fail to comply with this provision, they will not be able to continue their journey.
The national banking system, supermarkets, pharmacies and gas stations will extend their hours of operation on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays until 5 pm, according to the last digit of your identity card, passport or residence card.
Pharmacies and supermarkets are authorized to carry out home deliveries every day of the week from 7 AM to 5 PM; pharmacies may begin this service on Sunday, April 5th of this year.
The Honduran National Police reiterates that the measures described here have as their sole purpose the preservation of life, as well as the intensification of actions so that the population abides by the recommendations issued by the prevention authority of COVID-19.

The total amount raised through April 6th is $118,916
The real challenge is the lack of tourism born from the pandemic. For this reason, an online donations resource has been set up to help support the community at large. Donations can be made online through the Make it Count Foundation, who is a 501(c)(3).
The disbursement of these donations will be for emergency needs, healthcare workers, protective and medical equipment. Allocations of these funds will be transparent online.
NYC Press Briefing
Governor Dino Silvestri encouraged the public to tune into the daily press briefing by Governor Andrew Cuomo from NYC. This press briefing is meaningful as NYC is recognized as ground zero for the fight against COVID-19.
