COVID-19 Section
Governor Dino Silvestri holds live public updates every day as an effort to keep the public at large informed about COVID-19 containment efforts. An English session then follows the live updates first air in Spanish and. Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes.
The general format of the live streams consist of the governor receiving questions in real-time, and he provides up to the minute response to both local living on Roatan and visitors to the island. The live streams have been beneficial despite a few live stream interruptions, which may be caused by large amounts of visitors at any given time. You can watch past live streams on our website or directly from the Gobernacion de Islas de la Bahia Facebook page.
The Roatan Tourism Bureau has added a COVID-19 section to its website to help share translated information. More specifically, the new section includes emergency phone numbers, chat links which aim to connect travelers with all major airlines, and translations to official documents being put out by local authorities.
