Today's update from the Governor's Corner extends the streak of zero COVID-19 reported cases on Roatan. You heard that right, there continue to be zero reported cases of the virus on Roatan.
The Governor enlisted the help of the public at large to encourage one another to keep off the beaches and self-police the shorelines against reports of illegal human transports coming from the mainland. Perpetrators run the risk of losing their operating permit and might even have their boats sunk.
American Airlines came through today to pick up guests. Flights will continue until Tuesday when the last international flight is set to depart. The Governor stressed the importance of catching a flight out before Tuesday for anyone looking to leave the island.
Roatan will continue to be unavailable for incoming passengers.
Governor Dino Silvestri encouraged the public to tune in to the daily press briefing by Governor Andrew Cuomo from NYC. This press briefing is meaningful as NYC is recognized as ground zero for the fight against COVID-19.
